"Index labels" fails to render

Using a table with data in a column such as:

Attempting to Prepare -> Index Labels, will send a query to server and get a seemingly valid result but will not update the table. The new column is never rendered. And the progress bar is stuck at 50%, see screenshot:

Using the history you can back up one or two transforms and then replay them to see the valid results render correctly.
